Salim Young is an experienced Corporate Lawyer and is a former Director of Mallinicks Inc., a large Cape Town based Commercial Law firm, where he started his legal career in 1986. Salim’s legal skills were shaped in the early years of his career in the firm’s Commercial Litigation division. He later migrated to its Corporate Commercial arm, focusing on Mergers and Acquisitions, some Stock Exchange and general commercial transactional work. Salim is currently an Executive Director on the Board of British American Tobacco situated in Stellenbosch Cape Town, and maintains Board positions in a number of other companies. Salim holds a Masters Degree (LLM) in International Commercial Law from Tulane University in the United Sates.

Salim a founder member of UniPalm, also chairs UniPalm’s remuneration committee and is an active participant on the company’s investment committee.
